Jontes Farm

The tractor in this image (with brothers Roy and Chris Galbreath in the driver’s seat) is a McCormick-Deering, manufactured by International Harvester. Note the metal wheels, a feature that dates the tractor’s manufacture to some time in the 1920s. Bob Jontes recalls that this tractor (which he eventually owned) was used by Tony Pleterski, the original owner, to move Bob’s parent’s house several miles from its first location to its final destination on the Jontes farm at the corner of Pioneer Trail and what is now Airport Road.

Tomazin Farm

One of two original Farmall tractors purchased new by Joe Tomazin Jr. and his wife Georgia Luznar Tomazin for their farm operations. Bill Tomazin, one of Joe and Georgia’s sons, relates that he drove this tractor, at age 5, from his grandparent’s house to his parent’s farm. It was his first driving experience.
